In recent years Lexington County has grown into one of the most vibrant and thriving counties for the FCA in the state. FCA currently has a presence on nearly every high school and middle school campus in the county. One full time and two part time staff members currently serve in Lexington Co.
The role of FCA staff can be summed up in three words: Equip, Encourage, & Enable
FCA staff equips area coaches, volunteers, and students with resources, materials, information, and ministry opportunities. They encourage through regular campus visits, prayer, Bible studies, emails, outreach events, retreats, and leadership training. This in turn enables the coaches, volunteers, and students to boldly live out their faith, grow in their relationship with Christ, and share the Gospel on their campuses, in their communities, and in the arena of competition.
To present to athletes and coaches and all whom they influence the challenge and adventure of receiving Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, serving Him in their relationships and in the fellowship of the church.
To see the world impacted for Jesus Christ through the influence of athletes and coaches.
INTEGRITY We will demonstrate Christ-like wholeness, privately and publicly. SERVING We will model Jesus’ example of serving. TEAMWORK We will express our unity in Christ. EXCELLENCE We will honor and glorify God in all we do.
At the heart of FCA are coaches. Our role is to minister to them by encouraging and equipping them to know and serve Christ. FCA ministers to coaches through Bible studies, staff contacts, prayer support, discipleship and mentoring, resources, outreach events, national and local conventions, conferences, and retreats. The Campus Ministry is initiated and led by student-athletes and coaches on junior high, high school, and college campuses. The programs of the Campus Ministry include Huddles, Team Bible Studies, Chapel Programs, Team FCA Membership, One Way 2 Play-Drug Free! and Special Events. Camps are a time of “inspiration and perspiration” for athletes and coaches to reach their potential by offering comprehensive athletic, spiritual and leadership training. The non-school based FCA ministries reach the community through partnerships with the local churches, businesses, parents and volunteers. These ministries not only reach out to the community, but also allow the community to invest in athletes and coaches.

An FCA Teammate is one who partners with the ministry by being part of our Home Team. The Home Team is a group of people that give prayer and financial support to the FCA ministry. They not only agree with the vision of FCA, but help underwrite the ministry and its operational budget on an ongoing basis. [ learn more ]
