COACH HAROLD NICHOLS TO SPEAK
AT BELTON-HONEA PATH DEVELOPMENT DINNER

In 2009, Harold Nichols returned home to Presbyterian College as Head Football Coach for the Blue Hose.  Coach Nichols graduated from Presbyterian College in 1989 with a degree in political science and a minor in physical education.  He began his coaching career on the Blue Hose sideline in 1990 as assistant coach working with quarterbacks and running backs and also serving as director of campus life for the team members.

Nichols served as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator with Georgia Southern from 1992-1996.  He helped guide the team to the 1993 Southern Conference title and two Division 1-AA playoff berths.  He returned to PC in December of 1996 in the same role he had at Georgia Southern.  He helped head coach Daryl Dickey take the Blue Hose from 5-6 in 1997 to 8-3 and 7-4 the next two seasons.  In April, 2000, Nichols moved to Rhode Island as associate head coach and offensive coordinator and led the Rams to a three-win turnaround during his first year with the program.  He played a major role in turning the Rhode Island offense into one of the top ground attacks in the FCS.  In 2006, Nichols was recognized as the Michael Campbell Top Assistant Coach Award by the All-American Football Foundation.  In January, 2008, Nichols became offensive coordinator and assistant coach at Bucknell University.  Under Nichols, the offense amassed its highest points per game average since 2004.

A standout recruiter, Nichols has recruited in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, Mississippi, Arkansas, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Connecticut, North Carolina, and South Carolina.

He and his wife, Dee, have a daughter, Cassie, and twins, Corey and Cameron.
