There isn’t enough room here to detail the need to impact the youth of Greenville County, South Carolina, and our Nation with the life changing message of truth. Please Google teen statistics and look at these stats. You will see the great need to help FCA reach the youth of America, beginning in our backyard of Greenville County.
Since 1954, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes has been challenging coaches and athletes on the professional, college, high school, junior high and youth levels to use the powerful medium of athletics to impact the world for Jesus Christ. FCA is the largest Christian sports organization in America.
Greenville FCA influences athletes and coaches through 142 different ministries on 20 High School and College campuses. These ministries include Coaches’ Bible Studies, Team Bible Studies, Team Chaplains, and Student-led Huddle Meetings. In addition to the vibrant on-campus ministry, FCA sent 309 athletes and 20 coaches to Camps in 2009! FCA is truly changing Greenville County for Christ!
FCA Golf and TourLife serves on 9 professional and amateur tours across America. Greenville resident, Jose Alvarez serves as the TourLife chaplain on the PGA’s Nationwide Tour. He also serves in youth golf camps, PGA Tour Outreach events and in the FCA National Scramble Championship and International Pro Am. Many of today’s PGA stars are being influenced by this ministry as he continues to equip, encourage and engage them with biblical truth for authentic success in the journey of life and golf. |
