How do we organize the Coaches Ministry?
First we pray, then we look in the Bible for models. What comes out is an organizational plan that God has used to disciple men and raise up new leaders for centuries. We are very excited about His plan and the future impact it will have on the Coaches Ministry in Central Ohio. These are the ways we minister to coaches in the area:
1. “Training Partners” - Two coaches meeting bimonthly to study the Bible and pray together; growing in their faith as they love & care for one another. The Bible is replete with examples of this partnership pattern: Moses/Aaron, Elijah/Elisha, David/Jonathan, Naomi/Ruth, Paul/Timothy, and others. Coaches are enthusiastically embracing this.
2. “Coaches Huddles” - Bring 3 sets of “Training Partners” together and you have a small group of 6 coaches that meet once a month to share as a group the things they were learning as partners; every coach is doing the same study with his “Training Partner”. This gives coaches another opportunity to grow their leadership skills in this small group.
3. “Coaching Teams” - Bring the “Coaches Huddles” together once a month to celebrate all that God is doing, to see the big picture of Coaches Ministry and to get updates on future events for coaches. These big group gatherings are lead by the Coaches Ministry Director. These are a great opportunity to invite new coaches to join the group.
These groups are organized by schools, school districts and can also be sport specific. If you are interested in starting any of these programs in your school please contact Coach Bell at dbell@fca.org. |
