I was like God talked to me through every coach." "I am a person that has always been known as a "Good Church Going" kid, but I went to an FCA Camp this past week. I was struggling when I went to Camp. Basically, I had always prayed and asked God to forgive me but I never did ask Him into my heart truthfully. I mean I had religion but no salvation at all. But, Monday night they talked about how I could grow in Christ. I sat there thinking how could I grow when I did not have Him. So I just waited a little longer, but I couldn't wait any longer, so I talked to my huddle leader and at 10:15pm on Monday July 1, 2002. On my birthday I became God's child." "When I went to camp, I thought that being a Christian meant that you went to church every once in a while, and that you prayed. When I got to camp, I found out that it was much more than that. On the first night, I went to go talk with my sport coach. I told her that I wasn't a Christian, I never was, and I really needed Jesus in my life at the time. We talked for about an hour. When we were done talking, I realized that I could start over. I now have a brand new life with God. Everyone that knew me supported my decision. I want to thank FCA, my Huddle Leader and my Huddle members for this wonderful camp experience. I AM SO COMING BACK NEXT YEAR... AS A CHRISTIAN!!!!!" "God is amazing! God put me in the right time, place, state, and attitude to show how I need to get back to the basics. I'm from Tennessee and going to FCA Leadership camp was kinda an afterthought. However, after a faith-building trip during camp, I realized why I was there. I kept thinking about how I was a christian and went to church but at school I didn't go all out like I should. God wants me to get back to the basics. He wants me to live for him on Monday, Tuesday and so on..not just Sunday." "I was fortunate to work as a Huddle Leader and football clinician at the FCA Athletic Camp in Kutztown, PA. I met coaches that were solid men of INTEGRITY, who made me feel passion and excitement about living a life sold out for Christ. I was also inspired by a number of the athletes and Huddle Leaders working SO hard, even in the 100* heat. They never complained, at least not outloud, and they got the jobs that were necessary to be done, completed. IT WAS AN INSPIRATION!" "My son attended his first FCA camp in Bristol this summer. He came back really "pumped up"! I saw changes in his attitude and his excitement for getting involved with his youth group. After being elected President of the FCA for his High School, he registered for Leadership Camp in the summer of 2002. The day I picked him up is a day I'll never forget. It was immediately apparent that it had been a life-changing week. We spent the entire drive back talking & crying as he told me of the relationships that he had formed and of the revelations that had been brought to him during that week. He is putting into practice all of the things he learned. It was during that week that he made a decision to be involved in FCA after college as a career. He has surrendered to the ministry and is planning to attend Christian college in the fall." "This was the first time that my family attended an FCA camp. My son went as an athlete and my husband went for coaching. What an experience! I really enjoyed the women's time together and my child enjoyed the children's program. There was a man there named Clarence Lee who could speak the Word with such power that you had to sit up and take notice. He made a statement in one of his sermons that made me appreciate me and the Lord even more. Clarence commented that God put everyone of this Earth for a reason and with a mission. There are all different people: tall, short, big, small. We are the way we are because that is the way God made us and he created us this way for a purpose and a mission and we need to find out what that is. That really hit home with me. FCA Camp is a awesome experience and I hope my family can return." |
